On the first full day of competition in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, all eyes were on Apolo Anton Ohno as he took to the ice. Would he be able to add to his 5 Olympic medals? Some said yes, others said it was a long shot citing his performance in the last World Cup season where the Koreans and Canadians dominated. Oh, ye of little faith!
Apolo claimed his 6th Olympic medal and 2 more titles - Most Decorated Male US Winter Athlete and Most Decorated Short Track Speed Skater in history. With teammate, J.R. Celski claiming the bronze medal (his first Olympic medal) the night marked the first time 2 American short track speed skaters have stood on the podium at the same time.
